Oskarshamn jagar förstärkningar efter att Jake Newton och David Goodwin har dumpats.

Välmeriterade Kyle Cumiskey är ett namn av intresse, avslöjar Barometern.

Den NHL-meriterade backen uppges dock vara för dyr.

Kanadensaren gjorde två fina säsonger i Modo 2012-2014 och lirade även i Skellefteå säsongen 2016/2017, men fick till stor del SKE-sejouren spoilerad på grund av skadeproblem.

Cumiskey kommer närmast från en säsong som i första hand har spenderats på AHL-nivå.

Johannes Jönsson och August Hedlund.
Målvaktsbesättningen håller hög klass och är AIK:s största hopp som läget är nu. Johannes Jönsson - som stundtals har gjort väldigt bra ifrån sig på SHL-nivå - får betraktas som en av HockeyAllsvenskans största profiler. Talangfulle August Hedlund är dessutom en intressant tilltänkt backup.

Backsidan är av god allsvensk klass. Varken mer eller mindre. Pjäser i still med till exempel Johan Larsson och Robin Jacobsson är tunga namn och får ta ett stort ansvar. Offensivt ser det lovande ut. Det spetskompetensmässiga sett till offensiven är sammanfattningsvis bra, men här finns det en del frågetecken och bredden är inte direkt högklassig.

Stockholmarnas svagaste lagdel på förhand. Visst - AIK har en del gedigna namn i stil med exempelvis Sam Marklund, Johan Porsberger och Henrik Rommel, men forwardssidan känns tunn och trubbig sett till helheten vad beträffar offensiv kompetens. Gnagets forwardsbesättning tillhör inte direkt HockeyAllsvenskans övre halva som läget är nu.

Vita Hästen spelade sin andra träningsmatch på tre dagar och denna gång fick man lämna matchen som vinnare.

Det var i mellanperioden som man fick utdelning.

Marcus Eriksson spräckte nollan. 1-0 från Macke, och assistpoäng till Jacob Spångberg och Simon Krekula.

Sedan utökade nyförvärvet Istvan Bartalis till 2-0.

Vita Hästen skulle inte få hålla nollan, utan hemmalaget fick en tröstmål med endast tolv sekunder kvar på matchen i ett Powerplay.

Men vinst är vinst. Och nu är det bara fortsätta gnugga på.

IFK Norrköping meddelar på sin officiella hemsida att man förlänger kontraktet med Pontus Almqvist. 20-åringen gjorde en fin försäsong innan han olyckligtvis skadade sig och har varit borta större delen av året.

- Det är med stor glädje som vi kan informera om att Pontus Almqvist har skrivit på ett längre avtal med IFK Norrköping. Som de allra flesta fick en liten glimt av redan under försäsongen så är Pontus en otroligt spännande spelare med en väldigt hög potential, säger manager Jens Gustafsson till klubbens hemsida.

Det nya kontraktet sträcker sig fram till och med 2023.

Designed as the fixture to end the regular season, the planners rightly picked the two teams who would finish one and two in the league to race against each.

FOGO UNIA Leszno have been dominate as ever this season, losing only one match and winning outright all but two of the year's fixtures. Not so difficult when you have Emil Safutdinov, Piotr Pawlicki and Janusz Kolodziej as your top three riders - all with a heat average of over 2.1 this year!

But even if they cannot overtake them in the table, you can be sure that BETARD SPARTA Wroclaw will not give them an inch as they think to the forthcoming playoffs, where they may meet Leszno again, and their home fans who will long to see a victory.

Leszno won the first match of the season 50-40 at home - and don't be surprised if Tai Woffinden, Maciej Janowski, Maksym Drabik and Max Fricke take home the victory and the bonus point. Woffinden leads the entire Ekstraliga in heat average and all four of them have gained more than 1.91 this season.

Heat 2- reserve heat - the future of Polish Speedway

It is difficult to choose a heat with 10 of the top 30 riders in the league on display during this game. But I decided to go for a heat with more of the unknown riders in this top of the table clash.

The main qualification to take part in this heat is that you are Polish and under 22 years old. The home team will present Maksym Drabik in the red helmet. Only 21 he is already making a name for himself with a career best season in Poland and in Sweden with Lejonen (see him in action in the picture above) as well as on the international circuit including the U21 team world championships and the Speedway of Nations. He is my favourite to take this heat.

In blue is 19 year old Przemyslaw Liszka, who surprised everyone last week away against Zielona by scoring 7+1, dropping a single point in three heats. He will be looking to show it was no accident and what better to do this at home against league leaders, Leszno.

The two riders wanting to stop these two are none less than 20 year old Dominik Kubera and U21 world champion from 2018, Bartosz Smektala.

Kubera has been riding for Leszno for 5 years (!) but this is he best season at the current national champions. This has been his first year as a pro in an foreign league and his has had an amazing season at Elit Vetlanda in Sweden where he has already joined that select group with an heat avergae greater than 2.0.

Smektala was 21 only on Thursday and he too has been part of the Leszno organisation for many years. He is now in his second season in Sweden as Västervik Speedway sees an improvement in performance there.

I am predicting a 3:3 heat with Drabik, Kubera, Smektala and Liszka. But anything could happen as Poland's bright young things strut their stuff on Sunday evening.

#TORZIE

Sunday night sees the last two matches of the regular season in Poland. It is a repeat of Round 1 of the Ekstraliga and was designed to see the top four teams go head to head.

But for GET WELL Torun, who have already been relegated, it is simply a matter of pride as they host STELMET FALUBAZ Zielona Gora. The visitors are currently in third and will know after the results on Friday whether they will need to win to retain that position or whether the match in Torun will have no impact their overall standing. Zielona almost certainly have the bonus point already in the bag as they won at home by 53-37 with Nicki Pedersen dropping just a single point on the night.

Heat 5 - older champions and their challengers

The teams are so chock full of talent in the Polish league that almost every heat can look like a GP race program.

But I have gone for Heat 5 in the match in Torun. That because two former world champions, Chris Holder (TOR) and Nicki Pedersen (ZIE), will go against two riders who are currently competing in the GP series, Martin Vaculik (ZIE) and Niels-Kristian Iversen (TOR).

On current former in the league it should be a 1:5 for Zielona both Vaculik and Pedersen are in that elite level of riders who have a heat average 2.0 or greater. Vaculik in particular has been very impressive this year both in Poland, where is the third best rider and in the GP series where he is currently in fourth just seven points behind the leader, Leon Madsen (CZE). Pedersen is always a pleasure to watch with his tenaciousness and fiery attitude anything can happen. When excluded from a heat in Round 12 he went bananas, kicking the barriers and exploding in a tirade of angry words at his mechanic.

In this heat he will go against long time Danish rival, Iversen who is five years younger than the three times world champion who was born in 1977.
