EWINNER1: Krosno go top as home teams win

#KROTAR

It was a predictable result when the top team, Wilki Krosno, hosted strugglers, Unia Tarnow on Sunday. It was the first time the visitors had both Niels Kristian Iversen (4) and Rohan Tungate (8+1) together in the side since the first match of the season with both having been out with injury. However, even these experienced riders couldn't make the difference - both fell and the Australian also had an engine failure - although he was in last place at the time. But such was the team's performance that the 31 year old was still the visitors top scorer.

So the home team romped away with it, winning 60:30 with five riders scoring 11 or more and being led again by Tobiasz Musielak (pictured) with a near perfect 13+1 and Latvian Andzejs Lebedevs (12+1) coming in fresh from qualifying for the SEC in the Challenge meeting in Pardubice on Saturday. The Pole is currently the league's top scoring rider with an impressive 2.615 (23/05/21).

It was a home side win on Monday night in Rybnik when Start Gniezno came to town.

The visitors took the lead for the second time in the match with a 1:5 in Heat 8 lead by Finland’s Timo Lahti (13+1). Their Danish talent, Frederik Jakobsen (8), also made a good effort, although it was Motala Piraterna's Polish rider, Oskar Fajfer who was Gniezno’s second best finisher with 10 pts.

But Rybnik took the match with three heat advantages in the las four matches and were also led out by Scandinavian born riders. Norwegian born, Rune Holta top scored with 11+1 and Danish star, Michael Jepsen Jensen was not far behind with 10+1.

Monday night's last game saw Gdansk travel to Ostrow, but a poor start meant that the home team were already in the lead by 8 points at the first track preparation break.

Only the combination of Jakub Jamrog (14+1) and Viktor Kulakov (13+1) could do any damage for the visitors. The pair scored 1:5s in Heats 8 and 13 with Nicolai Klindt (7) their victim. The Dane was left picking up 1 pts for Ostrovia both times. The Gdansk pairing nearly made it three-in-a-row in Heat 15, but veteran Grzegorz Walasek (9+2) just nipped passed Kulakov on the line to make it a 2:4 for the visitors.

But otherwise, the home team never looked threatened and Scandinavians Oliver Berntzon (11) and Patrick Hansen (10+2) finished with double figures for the hosts. The third Danish rider at the meet was Gdansk's Rasmus Jensen (6). But even his presence was not enough to stop the rot and Ostrow ran out winners 49:41.
