Filip Hjelmland finally got to race his first match for Poznan when they visited Racwiz which started at 11:45am on Saturday. He was the team’s second highest scorer with 7 pts, whilst German Kevin Wolbert topping the team with 11. However, the match was over by Heat 13 and the home side won, 51-37.
In the eWinner1 league, Peter Ljung (13, pictured) and Kim Nilsson (7) both put in good performance for Unia Tarnow to top the teams leaderboard. But it was not enough as the team went down surprisingly to home side, Ostrovia, 50-40.
Meanwhile, Jacob Thorssell also was the highest scorer for Gdansk, making a big impact after being out for the last two games. He took home 11 points, but the visitors were overpowered by the dominant Apator Toruń squad, 55-35.
In the evening match the team with Swedish riders in it also lost as Gneizno were beaten away at Orzel Łódź, 51-39. But a Swede was again thr top scorer, in the shape of Oliver Berntzon. He is having the best season of all the Swedish riders in eWINNER1 league and finished this match with 11 points. Timo Lahti had a less successful time it bringing home just 5.
On Sunday in Latvia both Pontus Aspgren and Linus Sundström were in the starting line up as Daugavpils hosted Bydgoszcz in a bottom of the table clash. They were the only team with Swedish riders in to win this weekend. And Aspgren was an important part of that with 10 points as Lokomotiv smashed the struggling visitors, 60:30. He was the second highest scorer in the team whilst Sundström, still not at his best since last year’s crash, scored 6 for the home side.
