Piraterna 43 v 47 Indianerna #PIRIND

In Heat 2 Oskar Fajfer (12+1) crashed out in the first corner as he overgased the bike. He was excluded from the re-run which Kumla won with a 1:5. Piraterna never recovered from this and were chasing the whole match from behind. When the visitors’ Australian duo of Max Fricke (13) and Chris Holder (10+2) won Heat 14 with a 1:5 of their own, the match was over. Indianerna also took home the bonus point by 77-103 keeping their hopes of a playoff place alive, “We came here needing the win and we got a win,” said SGP rider, Fricke to Five One Racing at the end of the match.

Two Heat advantages in the nominations heats was enough for Västervik to take victory away from home in Avesta tonight. Smederna 46 v 44 Dackarna #SMEDDAC

Two of the title favourites met in the eagerly anticipated clash in Eskilstuna. It was Tai Woffinden’s debut for Dackarna and he was joining Maciej Janowski (7+2) and Jason Doyle to make a fearsome line up for the Målilla team.

As expected, the match was a close fought one with the visitors leading by just two points after Heat 8. However, when Smederna gained a 5:1 in Heat 12 it was the home team who led by two points going into the nomination heats. But when Jacob Thorssell (9+1) led Dackarna to a 1:5 in Heat 14, it left the scores were delicately balanced at 41:43 in the visitor’s favour.

Three of the four riders in the last Heat decider will be racing in the SGP in Målilla on Saturday. However, it was the only rider who will not be in the race, Grigori Laguta (10+2), who won the heat for Eskilstuna followed by the home side’s top Swedish rider, Pontus Aspgren (11+1, pictured) who beat both Doyle (13) and Woffinden (7) to create a 5:1. That meant that Eskilstuna won by 46:44, a win that keep them top of the table and makes them favourites to win a fourth Elitserien title in five years. Dackarna were just able to take the bonus point, 88:92.
