On Wednesday the DMU hosted the country’s qualifiers to the European and World Championships.
However, just before the competition started the FIM cancelled the European championship qualifiers in May leaving just the Championship Challenge left on the calendar before the SEC starts in June.
They clarified that winner, Patrick Hansen, will represent Denmark in that European Championship Challenge on 22 May in Krosno.
As regards the World Championship, in the four SGP Challenge events leading for possible qualification to the 2022 SGP Denmark will be represented by:-
Patrik Hansen
Nicolai Klindt (above)
Rasmus Jensen
Mikkel Michelsen
At the current time it is unclear who will be Denmark’s wildcard option for these events.
The observant among you may notice that fourth placed rider in Esbjerg on Wednesday, Peter Kildemand, is not mentioned in the GP Challenge list. That’s is because before the event he chose to only go forward to the European championship if he qualified so made himself ineligible for the World Championship events.
In other SGP news, this week also saw the Adrian Flux British SGP in Cardiff cancelled. The event was due to take place on 17 July.
